Celebrate The Resurrection!

Matthew 27:1-10

1. After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. 2. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Undeniable Proof – Regarding His Crucifixion
35. When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. 36. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. 37. Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Matthew 27:35-37 The Roman form of capital punishment is a well documented way of punishing law breakers. (6th century BC to the 4th century AD) Our Lord’s death was PREDICTED through the Old Testament prophets like Isaiah 53rd chapter and Psalms 22:16. Eye witnesses to the crucifixion were both Roman and Jewish like: * The Roman centurion (Luke 23:47) gave a verbal witness to this act. * The many women who served the Lord including Mary Magdalene.
50. And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. 51. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. Matthew 27:50-51 Undeniable Proof – Regarding His Death Look at what the Lord went through, His beating and His crucifixion on the Roman cross. (See movie – The Passion of the Christ)
There was no need to break His legs with the mallet because He was ALREADY DEAD (John 19:32-33) The scripture said it, I believe it and that settles it, Jesus died on the cross just like the Bible said. (Everyone knows the Bible can not lie)
Undeniable Proof – Regarding His Resurrection Matthew 28:5 5. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6 The fact that women made the claim that the tomb was empty gives more credibility to the story because of their low status in Jewish culture. The opponents of Jesus admitted the tomb was empty as the cooked up a bribery scheme. (Matthew 28:12-14)
Jesus appeared to more than ______________________ different people. They are all eyewitnesses to Jesus being alive. He talked with them He ate with them Invited one man to feel the wounds
After hearing the story what is your take? Are you willing to believe? (Yes)___________ (No) ___________

When it Comes to God’s People…

Exodus 11:1-3

1 Now the LORD had said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely. 2 Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.” 3 (The LORD made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.)

Thriving in Uncertain Times… Update # 1

Exodus 11:1-3
God is No One to Play Games With
1. Now the LORD had said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely. Exodus 11:1
It doesn’t matter how much power or resources we have, God is without a doubt always DECLARED THE WINNER (Your arms really are too short to box with God)
Our Lord is definitely a promise keeper; His word is reliable 100% of the time. (God says what He means and means what He says) There is always a TIME FRAME/BIG CHALLENGE for us to deal with before our prayers are answered. • God’s readiness time table – Release • Our readiness time table – Receive
God Requires Us to Follow Him Step by Step 2. Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.” Exodus 11:2
If we are going to make it through these rough days our faith must be rooted deeply in God. The way to build your faith is by spending quality time in Bible which is GOD’S HOLY WORD If we are going to make it through these rough days we must give credit where credit is due. (Give God All the Glory!)
God Will Move on the Hearts of People for You 3. (The LORD made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.) Exodus 11:3
The Lord will TOUCH the very heart strings of people to provide for the needs you have. (Can He do it?) The Lord is able to give you anything He wants you to have because he owns EVERYTHING ON EARTH! He is able to even elevate your position in the eyes of your enemies if that is what He wants to do.

“God’s Plan for Your Success”

Joshua 1:1-18

Joshua 1:6-9 6 “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

(4) The “God is with us” Factor God is a promise keeper and one of his most powerful promises is His constant presence.(Joshua 1:5)
(5) The Courage Factor In order to thrive in these times we will need be strong and have mucho courage.(No time for Wimps-Joshua 1:6) (6) The Obedience Factor Understanding and following the precepts of God’s word is the pathway to sure success (It’s about Doing God’s Word – Joshua 1:7)
(7) The Total Immersion Factor The Word of God is not optional God’s plan is for His word to be in every aspect of our lives. (Joshua 1:8)
(8) The “Whole Enchilada” Factor God expects His people to make the big decision for a total commitment to His way. (Joshua 1:16)

How to Put the Praise Machine in Motion 4. He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to make petition, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel: I Chronicles 16:4
Since all believers are priests before the Lord, you must realize that you have been empowered to offer the sacrifice of praise to God. (I Peter 2:5)
No matter what time it is(Up time or Down Time)it is time to give thanks God. Remember these two facts: * In times of prosperity we tend to enlarge our view of Self * In times of uncertainty we tend to enlarge our view of God

God’s desire is that all the families of the earth ascribe to the Lord glory, and strength.
Three ways to get the message out to the nations of the earth: Pray, Give, and Go

Who is this Man – Joseph?

Matthew 1:18-25

18. This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[c] because he will save his people from their sins.”
22. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23. “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[d]—which means, “God with us.”
24. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Joseph was Well Connected
16. and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. Matthew 1:16
Who are the UPLINE people in your life that have influenced you to do God’s will? When was the last time you gave praise to the Lord for your family tree? Remember, you stand on the SHOULDERS of those who came before you? Joseph was a Dedicated Man
19. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. Matthew 1:19
He was dedicated to GOD Joseph live an upright life before God
He was dedicated to his FIANCEE Joseph cared deeply about the woman he was about to be marry
He was dedicated to the WORD of God Joseph was interested in doing right (God’s Law)
Joseph was a Thinking Man
20. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:20
Joseph was faced with huge decisions but he chose not to act hastily but instead he THOUGHT IT THROUGH When we take the time to THINK AND PRAY God is willing to come along side of us and lead us in the way we should go. Joseph was a Man God Could Use
24. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. Matthew 1:24
God’s plan for Joseph was on the GRANDEST scale ever and would affect every person that ever lived. Is God knocking on your door? Does He want to involve you in His grand plan? What’s holding you BACK?
